Class 7 Science - Chapter : Nutrition in Animals
Nutrition in animals is the process by which animals take in food and use it to get energy for growth, repair, and survival. Unlike plants, animals cannot make their own food and must eat plants or other animals. The process includes five main steps: ingestion (taking in food), digestion (breaking down food), absorption (nutrients entering the blood), assimilation (using nutrients), and egestion (removal of waste). Different animals have different ways of taking and digesting food, like humans, cows (ruminants), and even tiny organisms like amoeba.
